ARIEL MALKA : MOBILE DEV

I'm a freelance designer and programmer developing robust mobile applications since 2004.

In the past, I have worked on a few J2ME projects including games and UI-intensive applications.

Nowadays, I'm specializing in mobile development for companies, with a focus on iOS and Android. More details on my LinkedIn page.

A real talent for software architecture coupled with some background in art & design allow me to lead the production of a mobile application form the early stages of specification and R&D to production and publishing.

Afterall, it is known that developing a successful mobile application is 50% coding / 50% planning, designing, researching, testing, isn't it?

I usually work on-site or from my office in Tel-Aviv. Looking forward to hearing about your project!

IOS AND ANDROID DEV

My domains of expertize on iOS and Android are:

- Custom UI requirements
- Games and simulations
- Advanced 2D/3D graphics (OpenGL)
- Physical interaction (touch, accelerometer...)
- Augmented Reality
- Location-based, GPS navigation
- Sqlite, XML and JSON parsing
- I/O, client-side networking

CROSS PLATFORM DEV

It is possible to leverage iOS and Android development by sharing some common C++ code.

The domains that particuarly fit to this approach:

- Games and simulations
- Advanced 2D/3D graphics (OpenGL)
- Physical interaction (touch, accelerometer...)

In addition to the obvious performance gains, cross platform C++ represents a hudge advantage in term of code maintenance.

IOS

I have been dreaming for years of a mobile platform with high-end display and computing capabilities...

Apple fulfilled this dream, and I enjoy exploring the endless possibilities offered by the iPhone and iPad: chronotext on the iPhone Babel Tower Text Dune

The last app I have been developing is TapNav, an Augmented Reality app which will drive you from here to there, quicker.

ANDROID

I have been an early adopter of the Android platform.

For a project I was developing back in 2009, I ported a respectable part of Android's open-source Java code to J2ME and it proved to be an excellent way to master the Google platform.

The last app I have been developing is TapNav (hitting the Android market soon), which was developed in parallel of the iOS version.
